The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), in collaboration with the Danish Government Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is offering a golden opportunity through the Kenya TVET Project 2025.

Whether you’re a recent high school graduate or a seasoned worker seeking certification, this scholarship can help you gain in-demand skills, receive official certification, and access industrial training that will boost your employability in Kenya’s growing construction sector.

What the Scholarship Covers

The program is fully funded and includes:

  • Tuition and examination fees
  • Hands-on industrial training (mandatory 3-month attachment)
  • Certification upon successful completion

Training Categories Available

1. Regular Training Programs

  • Designed for form four leavers
  • Covers two academic terms and three months of industrial attachment

2. Skill Upgrading Program

  • For workers in the industry without formal training or certificates
  • Three months of classroom training followed by a 3-month attachment
  • Selection done by the Kenya Building Construction, Timber & Furniture Industries Employees Union

3. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

  • For experienced workers who lack certification
  • Offers assessment and validation of existing skills

Training Center and Intake Details

  • Training Center: NITA Athi River
  • Intake: September 2025
  • Certification Awarded:
    • National Skills Certificate II (NSC II)
    • Government Trade Tests (Grade III, II, or I)

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity targets:

  • Youth artisans (commonly referred to as fundis) aged 18 to 35, working in construction but lacking formal training
  • Form four leavers with a grade of D- and above who are interested in trades like Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, or Solar installation
  • Women applicants – strongly encouraged to apply
